John Cavan is an attorney who is a member of both the California and Nevada State Bars. Mr. Cavan obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Georgia and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law.
Mr. Cavan specializes in intellectual property with a focus toward entrepreneurial ventures. Mr. Cavan has experience with most legal issues facing small businesses including corporate structure and formation, protecting intellectual property, contract negotiation, licensing, infringement of intellectual property, employment issues, dissolution, insurance issues, fundraising, acquisition and litigation. Over his professional career, Mr. Cavan has prosecuted over 100 trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office as well as numerous copyright applications through the United States Copyright Office. Mr. Cavan has litigated four cases in front of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Mr. Cavan has litigated over twenty-five cases in the State and Federal Courts of California and Nevada on numerous issues including, copyright infringement, insurance, rights of privacy and publicity, trademark infringement, employment issues, hostile work environment, fraud, contract disputes, personal injury, subrogation, corporate dissolution, forfeiture and partnership
